Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW)

Sabiha Gökçen Airport is the second international airport in Turkey. It was build in order to decrease the Ataturk Airport’s busyness. 

Sabiha Gökçen Airport is smaller, its capacity and the passenger traffic are less than Ataturk Airport’s. And was reconstructed and upgraded and re-opened in 2009. Nowadays the airport serves international and domestic flights at the same building with a huge food court, restaurants and the duty free store.

There are about 40 airlines from Turkey and outside. Pegasus Airlines is based at the Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

Sabiha Gökçen Airport is located on the Asian side of Istanbul. To get there you can use public buses that depart from the Asian side or the HavataƟ service which departs from Taksim Square and Kadikoy.
